This idea for this post was born during the infamous Olsen October but as I felt it wasn't really season appropriate, I decided to wait until the time was right.

With all the layering, scarves, leathers and furs; the Olsen Look is mostly associated with the cold months but of course Mary Kate and Ashley can dress for the hotter climates with the same unique style. They favor cutoffs, gladiator sandals, huge sunglasses and, of course, iced coffee.

I’m back after weeks of agonizing over the future of my computer. Figures it would completely shut down three days into New York Fashion Week. So I spent time thinking of new post ideas and poring over style.com, as everyone else, to check the fall collections. Faves? Balenciaga, of course, Balmain, Burberry Prorsum, Gareth Pugh and Lanvin. But thankfully it fully recovered and I can post again.

Grease has it all: music, dancing, high school students that look older than Serena and Blair (or even Dorota). And of course fashion: Pink Ladies and T-Birds jackets, saddle shoes, leather man cardigans, converse… need I go on?

Of course Sandy’s transformation from geeky to slutty is well documented but my personal favorite has always been bad girl Rizzo. As she steps out of her car in a black shirt dress, gigantic black sunglasses and Pink Lady jacket (collar up, of course) a true fashion rebel is born.

Now coming to a computer near you Überchic will present the most stylish movies ever made and how to get the look. Look for it every month.

And what better way to start that with an Audrey Hepburn film and one of my favorites: Charade. Not as well know as Tiffany’s it is nonetheless a classic.

The film starts with Audrey in an immensely chic skiing outfit planning to divorce her husband. Returning to Paris she finds her amazing apartment stripped bare and her husband gone.

Luckily she stills has her Louis Vuitton luggage filled with Hepburn-favorite Givenchy: elegant coats, stylish little dresses and a huge assortment of hats and gloves.

With the city of lights as the background for her adventures and Cary Grant at her side, Audrey must investigate the truth about her husband, not once looking anything but überchic.

I don’t think that’s a good fit. And the new 90210 was a complete disappointment, it did not live up to the hype. It sucks.

Yes, that is me in all my fake-paparazzi-avoiding glory. I decided to start November with a little post about what I’ll be wearing in the coming winter months, mainly because I’ve never done a menswear post and because it was useful/fun for me.

First I did a little mood board of what has inspired me lately. Mostly it was the Noir Complet feature on Paris Vogue, I loved it, black head to toe is always chic. The Olsens of course can do no wrong in my eyes; I specially love how they wear plaid and big sweaters. Speaking of big sweaters and playing with proportions in menswear, Christopher Bailey always manages to do so masterfully at Burberry Prorsum; I would order every piece from his Spring09 collection, starting with the hats. I’ve always said that Nicolas Ghesquiere is my favorite designer and his menswear at Balenciaga is just as futuristic and inventive as the female counterpart. The Sartorialist did a Chanel menswear photo shot, and it was a great idea, especially since it is completely overlooked. I also appreciated it because I own a pair of Chanel sunglasses and some people don’t seem to get it. And I like to mix some preppy/scholar details into my wardrobe and of course nobody does it better that Gossip Girl.

My Necessities
Some of my wardrobe key pieces: My favorite blazer is a vintage black one I got last spring. It has only one button and fits perfectly. It’s the one I’m wearing in the pic, but you can’t really distinguish much. I have a pile of black cardigans in all shapes and sizes; they just go with everything. Fingerless gloves are my passion and I live in sunglasses, never have enough.

APC is a label that I am very keen on. I got this t-shirt this summer in Paris and it is already starting to fray; I wear it so much. I must confess I don’t have the skull and bones shoes just yet, but they are in my Christmas wish list.

I got that Gap sweater a few sizes up so it’d be extra cozy. Toms shoes are so comfortable and stylish at the same time I have them in black and grey: couldn’t make up my mind. I’m obsessed with Patrick Robinson redesigned simple T’s, they fit perfectly! I got four black ones, two whites and two grey ones and want more.
And I was never a leather jacket kind of guy but I have now two perfect ones: a vintage find that is incredibly current and an impulse TopMan purchase that also fits like a glove. And I prefer to wear both with black sneakers, a grey cardigan and some scarf.

The controversial (to some) Olsen October has come to an end and I’m kind of sad because it was such a fun month/project. And I really loved my Olsen header.

Mary Kate & Ashley are my true favorites and fashion icons and I had the best time looking through thousands of their pictures and making all the mood boards, collages and posts.

So to keep the Olsen spirit alive in Überchic, from now on I will feature in the sidebar Olsen Watch with their latest trendsetting looks.

And for this post I’ll leave you with pictures of MK & Ash together because, really, what would one be without the other?

Mary Kate Olsen loves a red Chanel 2.55 so much she even wrote an article for the New York Times about it! She claims it was Ashley’s but I’ve yet to find a picture of her with it.

Yes New York Fashion Week is at full swing so why not take a breath from all that clicking at style.com and discuss other fashionable happenings?

The buffalo check craze is full on and I still have not gotten sick of it, even though I bought my fist shirt back in January after seeing the Ralph Lauren show which I loved. I gave it a rest in the summer thinking it would be somewhat stuffy in a hot day but apparently MK Olsen thought otherwise and was seen all round town in her grungy looks. Guess I’ll pull it out of the closet for another round.

On a more controversial issue, I can’t be the only one loving Beyonce’s Etta James-inspired wig, can I? I think is so out that it is actually very in. It has a Lady Di in the 90’s vibe. It should be the new Rihanna. I’ll be waiting for a true fashionista to rock it for real in the future.

W Magazine photoshoots always give something to talk about and Anne Hathaway is no exception. I think she looks so good after what she’s been trough and that is always the best revenge.

Is anyone watching the new 90210? I was kind of exited about it, but it did not deliver. Not half as juicy as Gossip Girl or The OC, it is so cliché-filled it could be qualified as a satire of teenage TV series if it was actually clever. But it isn’t. The only good thing about it is Jessica Walter’s Tabitha, basically repeating her character Lucille from Arrested Development. I’ll keep watching to see if it gets better (bad girl Naomi has a little potential) but not for long.

California here we come . . .

Ooohh I wish, but my travels are finally over and I’m back. And although I didn't post anything while I was away I did keep reading your kind comments and visiting my favorite fashion blogs. Every time I get back from a summer trip I always feel like the season has ended already and it's time to pull my fall looks out of the closet. So to keep the summer vibe alive I've been watching The OC and do I miss it; even the later episodes with Taylor and Marissa's sister. Actually the only person that I do not miss (and the cause I almost stopped watching altogether) is Johnny, gosh he was annoying. Is it wrong that I cheered when he went over that cliff?

Anyway the show was really fashion oriented and the style was California Chic at its best. Some sartorial highlights were the funky flats Marissa had to wear so she wouldn’t tower over the rest of cast, the gargantuan Chanel tote she used as a backpack for school in the early seasons and Summer's colorful outfits that always were perfect for her namesake season.

When not dazzling with gorgeous gowns for all of the parties that they attended (personal favorites are the dress Marissa wore to Caleb's Christmas party in the first season and her Chanel prom dress), Coop and Summ knew that you need nothing more than an attractive top, long necklaces and a statement bag to make simple jeans look Newport Beach-ready.

We Could Be Heroes Just For One Night

Yesterday's Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy Gala at the Met was a little underwhelming for my taste, there were some outfits that took flight but most were relegated to sidekick status. There were also some disappointments (I'm looking at you Rachel Bilson, especially that hair). And obviously no one told the Olsens that with great fashion power comes great responsibility.

I was just thinking of Plum Sykes the other day, wondering: when will she write again? (If you haven’t read Bergdorf Blondes or The Debutante Divorcee go read them now). And there she is in a gorgeous (albeit not Superheroish) gown. One of my best dressed.

Blake Lively and Penn Badgley were also not very in theme, but I forgive them for looking glam and yesterday’s extra juicy Gossip Girl.

Diane von Furstenberg has designed custom dresses for Ashley Olsen and Mary-Kate Olsen, who will attend as her guests. The event will be hosted by Anna Wintour with Giorgio Armani, George Clooney and Julia Roberts.

Miss Pettigrew Lives For A Day

Miss Pettigrew Lives For A Day is a darling screwball comedy and I absolutely adored it. The sets were so luscious and the performance of "If I Didn't Care" by Amy Adams and Lee Pace (come back to me Pushing Daisies!) was simply masterpiece.

Of course the costumes were truly magnificent and you can bring the 40’s prewar style with structured and demure dresses, glamorous clutches and stunning jewelry.

What A Day For A Daydream

If you prefer a more laid back look once in a while, it’s fun to a hippie chic day. Movable dresses, looser jeans and bohemian prints almost make you want to frolic in the grass. And don’t forget a little feather here or there.

Often overlooked next to fashionistas Blair and Serena Little Jenny proves that she deserves to be noticed too. In this outfit, from set, she perfectly demonstrates how you can take to inspirations and bring them into the new millennium. You have the classic 40’s fishnet stockings and shoes and then the hippie chic elements with the scarf and the boho bag. A look to gossip about.

Oh and OMG don’t forget to tune in for the first new episode in 20 years (or at least it felt like that).

The Fall Of Marc Jacobs

I have been watching in horror Marc Jacob's transformation for bona fide fashion designer to wannabe Hollywood d-list celebrity. Who would have guessed that getting clean would have caused the downward spiral, it is usually the other way around. The tacky tattoo of himself, the awful costume he wore to his Arabian style party, Kevin Federline at his fashion show, meeting perez hilton (who lamely thinks he discovered Agy Deyn and innocently believes she's brand new). It is truly awful. But Marc really hit an all time low when he flew to LA to go to perez hilton's birthday party. Are you serious? Other "celebrities" in attendance included Heidi Montag, Spencer Bratt and Victoria Recano (whoever she is). The saddest part is that people like Khloe Kardashian get paid to attend that kind of event, but Marc obviously doesn't need the money so ... he actually wanted to be there.

There is an upside to this sad story and that is that his designs continue to amaze. At least for now. I just bought a few fun somethings at a Marc by Marc Jacobs store which I love love but I really wondered if maybe his design team is really responsible for all the great stuff and he just puts his name on it.

Ashley and Mary Kate Olsen are working on a coffee-table book about fashion, titled "Influence".

The book will include exclusive photographs of Ashley and Mary-Kate from photographer Rankin, and a wide variety of other never-before-seen materials and interviews from Mary-Kate and Ashley's personal collections.

February Inspiration

Inspiration can come from anywhere. No doubt Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig where inspired by Ghesquiere's festive spring confection to create the opening look of their fall collection.

So I decided to take inspiration from three different sources (the runway, celebrities, and music) to give new ideas for February.

Runway
This 3.1 Phillip Lim looks like something a model would wear off the runway. And since spring is coming why not ad a little floral scarf or bright yellow clutch?

Hollywood
Celebrities know that sunglasses are the only way to protect themselves from all the pap flashes and right now they are going the (very) dramatic route with huge sporty shades.

And yes that is Britney at this lovely blog but I do adore those Gucci sg's.

This season my favorite shows are also the best dressed. Pushing Daisies takes place in a fantasy world and the wardrobe is just as imaginative with fifties New Look silhouette dresses next to 60’s groovy prints. This century’s Dynasty is Dirty Sexy Money and the luxurious outfits are as delicious as this new drama. The funniest show on television is Ugly Betty but the employees at Mode know that fashion is no joke (unless Betty is wearing it). Everybody’s favorite it-show is Gossip Girl with the best fashion this side of Manhattan – the Upper East Side, of course.

It seems like Rachel Bilson’s work has finally seen the light. After months of just seeing her going to film something or just hanging around LA she has finally hit the small screen (who didn’t love her as Lou on NBC’s Chuck? or at least her outfits?) and the big screen (her upcoming movie Jumper). So it’s time to have a closer look at Ms. Bilson’s wardrobe. Rachel is an expert in laid back chic, preferring boot cut over skinny jeans and slouchy boots but always wearing the right accessories be it a Chanel scarf or bag or stylish shades.

Immediately below my two favorite outfits from Rachel: dressed down, she looks so good in high-waist jeans (unlike ahem Mischa) and dressed up she looks gorgeous is Chanel.

Then some red-carpet looks, her every day style and her famous friends. And to top it all off a The OC edition of Who Wore It Best? Yes the photos are a bit old (those crazy summer days) but I could not resist having Coop and Sum fight it out.

Proenza Schouler's safari-inspired spring collection was one of the most talked about at New York's Fashion Week. It was called outstanding and of the best from the brand's short but impressive history. The design duo signed a lucrative deal with the Valentino Fashion Group that allowed them to work with the finest materials like feathers from Lemarié, the Paris go to supplier for couture feathers.

Proenza Schouler was founded by Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough in 2002 and it has already gained a strong fashion following. They met while studying at Parsons School of Design. During school, Hernandez interned at Michael Kors and McCollough interned at Marc Jacobs. For their thesis project they partnered and called the effort by theirs mothers' maiden names, Proenza Schouler, and fashion history was made.

The look is American-sporty with a youthful touch. Cinched waists, tailored jackets and body conscious pieces are always reinterpreted and given new life in a Proenza Schouler collection.

All-American girl Hilary Rhoda is a breath of fresh air to all the doll-faced models that currently rule the runway (of course that doesn’t mean I don’t love Jessica Stam).

The former field hockey and lacrosse player attended an all-girl’s school in her native Maryland. How Gossip Girl of her! Who didn’t love the Blair-Serena showdown in the hockey field?

She has appeared in numerous advertising campaigns like Balenciaga, Dolce & Gabbana and most recently signed a contract with Estée Lauder as their newest face. She has also been in the cover of Italian Vogue (three times), Paris Vogue, W and the famous supermodels-of-the-future cover of American Vogue – and she looked stunning in each one.

Earning an estimated total of $2 million in the past 12 months, this July Forbes magazine named her twelfth in the list of the World’s 15 Top-Earning Supermodels.

She appears to be very close to another of my favorite models Coco Rocha and – this is the best part – she was born on April 6 1987: just like I was! To the year!

Look Of The Week: Dover Street Market

When I was in London for the summer, located in a normal building, in a not so crowed street, I came across the most eccentric store. Dover Street Market is a multilevel store conceptualized by Rei Kawakubo of Comme Des Garçons. Aside from having the greatest selection of Comme Des Garçons and of Kawakubo’s protégé Junya Watanave, the store also features designer collections from Lanvin, Nina Ricci, Azzedine Alaïa and L’Wren Scott among others.

These designers are personally invited by Rei to set shop in a section of the store and they can design it in any way they wish, often selling limited edition pieces made only for Dover Street Market.

The inside of the store is really interesting; the interior is set in an industrial way, as if the construction wasn't finished. There are bare concrete floors, steel beams and wooden boxes were the clothes are displayed.

The top floor café has a very French vibe, with French waiters that barely speak English serving the most delicious French food. I loved it.

The clothes go from the most eclectic couture to the simple and cheeky, and I picked some of the best stuff from the web page, although it really doesn’t do justice to the marvelous selection inside Dover Street Market.

Balenciaga Is In Full Bloom

Miranda Priestly may have said in that sarcastic terrifying whisper "Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking". But at Balenciaga indeed they were. Nicolas Ghesquiere presented what will sure be a highlight of the Spring 08 season by taking a simple concept and giving it the Balenciaga touch. The prints may have been old fashioned but the shapes certainly weren’t; they found the perfect balance between the vintage glamour of Cristobal Balenciaga and the futuristic mind of Ghesquiere. Truly amazing.

Black & White Spring

The colorful collection also showcased one of the defining trends for next spring: Black & White. This timeless combination was seen mostly at menswear-inspired pieces as well as on demure dresses.

Agyness New Look

It seems Agyness Deyn has been reading her Über Chic. The model stayed with the hair color that was voted the best at last week’s who does it better? I quite like it although it might get old fast.

Eduard Erlikh does the most gorgeous fashion watercolors by layering up to 20 coats of watercolor paint and the result is stunning. This is Über Chic's Back to School Look of the Week Extravaganza last Look of the Week and let's face it, we are already sick and tired of school. And what better way to forget about boring classes than to imagine yourself in more glamorous places and what's more glam than the city of lights? So channel your inner Parisian with a effortlessly chic look. Black is key as are slim trousers or tights . Stripes are a fun cliche but opt for a big beanie instead of the predictable beret. If you are only looking to ad little french touches to your everyday wardrobe a black turtle neck will be forever chic or choose a fun bag like Sarah Jessica Parker.

But it is best to really get into the mood so don't brush your hair for a week, listen to Coralie Clément's Bye Bye Beaute and imagine yourself window shopping at Avenue Montaigne as you enjoy citron and café macarons from Ladurée. But the most important thing is attitude, of course.

Yes, you can call me obsessed but I don't care: I'm dying for Gossip Girl to begin. The new series from The CW looks insanely good plus I'm the biggest fan of the books and if this show is only half as deliciously addictive as the bestseller novels it will be my favorite series. It premieres next week so this week Über Chic's Back to School Look of the Week Extravaganza is all about the show and it's look. In this series about old East Coast money and young It girls, fashion is of course essential to the show. The costume designer of Gossip Girl will be Eric Daman who was an assistant to Patricia Field in Sex and the City.

"I feed off of the East Coast socialites -- Tinsley Mortimer, Lydia Hearst," says Daman, a former stylist for magazines such as i-D. "They're different than the L.A. girls, more cutting-edge. They go after the up-and-coming designers, like Alexander Wang and Vena Cava. Of course, you mix that up with the bigger houses like Chanel and Ferragamo, but these debs are getting the newest stuff all the time."

He also said that he likes to blend high and low pairing an ultra-luxe Goyard bag with an inexpensive shirt from Topshop, for example. Yes Goyard! I adore their print (especially the green one)!

The girls won't be the only ones with massive wardrobes though, the guys will also be fashion plates. I made a post about the guy's clothes a while ago, remember?

So the look is very preppy (like the school skirt) but with a twist, Blair's clothes seem to be very polished and proper while Serena has been given a more rocker vibe.

Valentino Garavani was born on May 11, 1932 in the town of Voghera, Italy. In the 60's he started his fashion house, Valentino. His first show, in 1962 was a success, and Valentino entered the fashion world. Soon he was dressing European royalty and American socialites. Jackie Kennedy wore a white Valentino dress to her wedding with Greek millionaire Aristotle Onassis. In recent year Valentino has became synonym with red carpet style, with celebrities all around the world wearing his glamorous confections. This summer Valentino celebrated his 45 years in the fashion business with numerous star studded events.

Valentino's trademark red color, known as rosso Valentino, is a combination of 100% magenta, 100% yellow and 10% black. His dresses are always glamorous, dreamy and romantic.

This week Valentino announced that he is retiring from the fashion world. He will complete his work in January, after showing his ready-to-wear collection in Paris in October and his couture collection in January. Alessandra Facchinetti has been appointed as the fashion house's new creative director for womenswear. She has been seen for years as a rising star of Italian couture and one of its most promising talents. She previously worked at Gucci, where she took over from Tom Ford.

So this is a battle for the ages. A case of total sibling rivalry. An open war! Ok maybe not but recently über chic sister Mary Kate and Ashley were seen wearing similar outfits so it was the perfect opportunity to have a little Olsen face off. Both are wearing skinny jeans and grey t's (which I'm sure they read about here). MK decided to ad Louboutins and a gold clutch. Ashley wooden wedges and a Givenchy over sized bag. To protect themselves from paparazzi's flashes Ashley wore classic aviators while Mary Kate opted for trendy Wayfarers.
I'm usually Team Ashley, but this time I'm going with Mary Kate. So . . .

This week in Über Chic's Back to School Look of the Week Extravaganza a look that can be reproduced easily inspired by the always fashionable Olsens. Plaid can be so chic but it can also be a slippery slope: pair it with jeans and a baseball cap and you are Luke Danes! Over sized trousers and a unkempt appearance and it looks like you are going to start singing Smells Like Teen Spirit. It's better to follow Ash & MK's polished footsteps and give plaids an upgrade with skinny black jeans, elegant shoes instead of Doc Martens and for those heavy school books a oversize bag. Finish the look with Ray-Ban wayfarers and a black leather jacket or cardigan.

One of my favorite designers is Nicolas Ghesquiere, he has a unique vision about fashion and it's shapes. People know that a Ghesquiere collection can influence everyone else's - even some from the "bigger" names. In 1997 when he was only 25 years old, Nicolas was chosen to head Balenciaga, one the most influential fashion houses from the couture era that had fallen from grace after the death of founder/visionary Cristobal Balenciaga and a string of really faulty designers.

But Ghesquiere turned the brand around and made it into what of the most respected and influential brands. In 2001 The Gucci Group bought Balenciaga and Nicolas has always been positive about it as it enables him to complete his vision of making Balenciaga a global brand.

Here are some of my favorite designs from his most recent collections. From the Baroque Rockstar of Spring 2006 to his Futuristic Fembot from Spring 2007, Ghesquiere never ceases to amaze. One of his staples is the suit, always present in his collections in every form of incarnation but always with the same silhouette: cigarette trousers and fitted jackets with structured shoulders. His dresses are always dramatic and his gravity defying shoes are always gasp inducing.

Nicolas Ghesquiere may sometimes borrow from the past but mostly he chooses to show us what the future of fashion - and life - will be in the twenty first century.

Britney Spears. There was a time when she was indestructible, she was on top of the world, nobody could hold a candle to her. Christina, Jessica, Mandy. They were all second fiddle to her. And then disaster happened. K. Fed. Cheetos. Trucker hats. Red Bull. Suddenly a ray of light. She divorced Kevin. She was looking good on Letterman. Rosie poured confetti on The View. Could Britney be back? And then she sink lower, lower, lowest. The drugs. The shaved head. The clothes! But now she has a new song. I used to believe that if she did just a really good song like Grammy winning Toxic people would forget the other stuff but now I'm not sure that is enough. She needs a psychiatrist, a manager, a stylist. So listen to her new song here and decide. . .

Look Of The Week: Balenciaga Back To School

Yes, it's that time of the year again: the beach is deserted, the summer dresses in storage, the brand new books ready and the sad faces and alarm clocks ready. Yes, it’s time to go back to school. But as always there is a silver lining, two in this case: first? September’s Vogue is here with 840 pages of fashion to get you through boring economy classes. I'm so excited, I already bought mine! September’s Vogue: the only reason why September could ever resemble Christmas. And second? Über Chic’s Back to School Look of the Week Extravaganza! (Yes, that’s quite a mouthful). For the month of September the Look of the Week will be meant to resolve the question nobody can answer because it’s so damn early: what to wear today?

This week inspiration comes from my favorite fall collection from one of my favorite designers: Balenciaga by Nicolas Ghesquiere. The Look is inspired by the structured blazers and pants mixed with exotic scarves for a more international/ethnic look. I think it’s such a fresh spin in a classic look and can be fairly easy to achieve, if you have the key pieces . . . and style of course.

Long before Agyness Deyn was the rock&roll model of the moment Irina Lazareanu was already making headlines not only by her modeling career but by briefly dating Pete Doherthy and befriending Kate Moss. The Canadian model of Romanian decent has been called the model of the moment by Teen Vogue and fashion's favorite new muse by Vogue. She was also handpicked by Moss to be the face of Kate Moss for TopShop. August's Vogue declares her the responsible for the current craze for brow-grazing bangs seen in everyone from Reese Witherspoon to Zooey Deschanel.

Well finally Nicole Richie admitted to being pregnant and now she's stepping out in the chicest maternity clothes ever. Not one to wear ugly tracksuits or trainers, Nicole prefers lovely dresses, stylish shoes and (our fave) Chanel shades; the same über chic model Ashley Olsen wore on Marie Clare. She should be an inspiration to Hollywood mothers that loose their style when they get pregnant.

Look Of The Week: Grey's Anatomy

No, my look of the week is not inspired by one of my favorite shows (although maybe one day . . . Look of the Week: Scrub Chic). No, it's inspired by the neutral that is shaping up to be one of the key colors of the season. We saw grey in every runway, in every piece of clothing (and accessories) imaginable. Grey jeans are looking so chic. My favorite look is grey from head to toe with only some black shoes or white top underneath a cosy grey sweater. Or to shake thing up it goes along fabulously with bright yellow.

The Shape of Things to Come

The new shape that is emerging from all the shows is the structured jacket with high shoulders and slim waist, which I love. This controversial figure is seen with a critical eye – especially from the ones that remember the extreme shape from the 80’s. It differs because now it is worn with demure colors like black or white. It would also be a good idea to avoid gigantic jewelery, big hair and cat fights by the pool.

Only time will tell if these pieces can break back into everyday use but always-fashion-forward Ashley Olsen has already worn two magnificent forms of the new silhouette from her and MK’s line The Row. High heels seem to be a must along with a who-cares-for-stares attitude.

Mischa Barton's New Look

I love Mischa Barton but I'm not so sure about the new hair: she looks like Mary Jane Watson after a long run. However maybe if she combs her hair properly it will look better; and that dress and that hairband totally look out of place with the new shade. But I have faith that with the right hairstyle/clothes she will look as good as always. What do you think?

I Had To Have It

There are somethings I've always loved: when stars play crazy (Beyonce in Ring The Alarm, Gwen in It's My Life), french ads for perfume (the little red riding hood for Chanel No. 5) and Sarah Jessica Parker. And they have all come together for SJP's new fragance Covet. Only she would break a window in chic Louboutin pumps and a dramatic Lacroix gown. Loved the music too.

Look Of The Week: Legally Blonde

Just a week ago I was in NYC and I got to see Legally Blonde The Musical. It was so funny, the songs so catchy: I loved it! So I bought the soundtrack (some of my faves are Ireland, So Much Better and of course Legally Blonde) and I saw the movie again for like the 1,132,876 time. So the look of the week is Elle Wood's signature color. Oh! and hurry to the iTunes Store because the Discovery (read = free) Download of the week is Omigod You Guys, one of the funniest/catchiest songs in the play.

Trend: Leather Jackets

It seems like everyone from models Lily D. and Gemma W. to fashion icons like Mischa B. and Ashley O. and even Kirsten D's beau are wearing rugged black leather jackets. Ashley has been know to buy Dior Homme jackets in the smallest sizes. It may be too early to start wearing them but come fall they'll be perfect with one of the big colors of the season - grey.

Black In Black

Yes, it's true! Tell your friends, I'm back! I know, it's been way too long since I posted something but my vacations were totally crazy and my computer totally succumbed to the pressure. In other words I couldn't get a connection. But worry no more cause I'm back and better than ever. But I did have a chance to go over the couture collections and noticed some interesting trends like feathers and jewel tones, but more on those later.

Today I'm lovin' one silhouette that repeated itself in all the shows: the dramatic black dress with voluminous shoulders. Worn with feathered headdresses in Chanel, with a torero hat and red gloves at Dior or with a crown made of the model’s hair at Gaultier, the omnipresent garb never failed to impress. These striking dresses will steal all the spotlight.

Gucci Resort

Frida Giannini presented the Resort Collection and I totally adored it. All black and white with splashes of bright color and a rock vibe it was also very 50's inspired. And so we don't forget this is a resort collection there were also bamboo and coral prints to ad a summer note to the full skirts. I loved everything about from sexy shoes to the retro sunglasses. Here some of my favorite looks.

PS. On a more personal note I'm leaving for London today (watch out TopShop) for three weeks so the posts may be more sporadic and small or completely invisible! But after visiting England I'm heading for New England and then I fear I won't be able to post there at all. But I'll keep you posted.

Look Of The Week: Nancy Drew

You know how everybody has an inner child? Well I don't, I have an inner tween. That's why I love Hannah Montana, list Aquamarine as one of my favorite movies and why I'm very exited about the new Nancy Drew movie. Nancy (played by Teen Vogue cover girl Emma Roberts) is my inspiration for the look of the week. In a movie were they style LA girls as the worst kind of fashion offenders - the ones that think they are fashionable - Nancy stands out with her old-fashioned style and darling clothes.
